DETAILS

This is a 5 day acting intensive based upon the teachings of Bathsheba Garnet. Classes are kept small so that everyone works  45- 60mins every day. Class starts at 9am- 4pm PTD, with a one hour lunch.

You are paired up and given a scene on the first day so as not to rehearse it at home prior to the start of the class. You learn the scene, as well as the role and the play during the week, by discovering it through the organic, holistic and somatic process of the work.

My addition to Bathsheba’s Simplicity process is to start each day with a vocal yoga warm up to get actors more connected to their bodies and voices. This also allows me, when giving notes relating to the voice, not to have to explain certain concepts during a scene, so the actor can stay present with their scene partner in the moment. It also aids in creating more emotional availability and reciprocity as well as psycho- physical connection.

I may also add grounding meditations to encourage relaxation and presence.
