Vocal Sovereignty
Vocal sovereignty is the art and practice of returning to your natural, liberated voice, the one that exists beneath performance, fear, and conditioning. It's a path of healing and self- leadership, through sound, breath, and truth- telling. To be vocally sovereign is to express from the wholeness of who you are; body, heart and spirit- with clarity, integrity and freedom.

Below you will find two series of workshops I created to help you explore and reclaim more of your inner voice, vocal health, and self trust. Get to know your voice as a whole body instrument and a mind- body system using shadow work, vocal yoga and vocal hygiene. ​​

There is also the opportunity to work with me 1:1 in a deeper more personalized exploration of this work where I will guide you through a process of self inquiry, breaking through limiting beliefs and unlocking your potential in areas you feel blocked.

Voice
Workshop 1: Dissolving Meditation​
This is an introduction to somatic parts work aka shadow work. I will guide you through a somatic exploration of the felt self. We will look at triggers, beliefs and unmet needs and uncover gifts and lessons in the process.
​
While we will be gently dipping our toes into the edges, bigger emotions may come up. And so you are welcome to bring a comfort object if that helps you.
Workshop 2: Befriending Our Inner Critic
In this workshop we will be writing an inner critic monologue and play an interactive game in groups turning towards our shadow, hearing it out and mine for beliefs and unmet needs, so we can walk away emboldened.
Workshop 3: Shame and the Legitimate Want
Whenever we do something shameful and against our values or moral code we are usually trying to find something else whether it be joy, connection, wanting to fit in, prove our worth or power. The action doesn't align with the motivation and usually we are left with a feeling of guilt, embarrassment or confusion. Sometimes we are avoiding an acceptance of something, sometimes we are covering up grief. Denial can lead to misplaced responsibility, and a search for control in places we are powerless.

In this workshop we will examine misalignment and discover our legitimate unmet need and share ways to meet it in healthy life supporting ways.
Workshop 4: Re- Employing Dysfunctional Behavior Patterns
Our dysfunctional patterns are trying to show us something, if we learn to observe and listen. They tell us a story of how we relate to the world and our emotions. There is a character leading the way here that if we can recognize it's role we can re- employ to work for us not against us in having and being what and who we want.

WORKSHOP SERIES 2

Workshop 1: Stability, Grounding and Sounding
In this workshop we will look at the voice as a whole body instrument. I like to start people on the floor with exercises to develop interception, connect to the weight and space in the body, and how to move, breathe and sound from our center. Where do we feel consonants and vowels in the body? How do we breathe and access our support? The fight flight response and how it affects our voices on a nervous system level.
Wear something comfortable you can move around in as this is a gentle movement based voice class drawing on Vocal Yoga, Feldenkreis and Tai- chi.
Workshop 2: Alignment, Resonance and Tension Release
A continuation from where we left off, exploring alignment and resonance placements. Further exercises to release stored tension in the pelvis, neck and shoulders. Introduction to voice as movement and communication relationship from thought to body to audience. Exercises for the face, loosening the jaw, the back of the neck, and the tongue.

Comfortable clothing you can move around in is recommended so you aren't distracted by restrictive clothing as we explore physical sensations related to voice.
Workshop 3: Vocal Hygiene, Habits and Routines
For this workshop we will sit around the dining table and I will give you exercises for the tongue, the mouth, cheeks, and lips you can integrate into your daily practice. As well as exercises for the vocal cords to develop vocal closure and build vocal strength. I will also give you some light vocalization exercises and discuss the art of warming up and how to pre- warm up before you sing.

We will share our thoughts on voice, our struggles, and how we use them in different environments and situations. How to leverage and embody our power to use our voices mindfully and skillfully.

Workshop 4: Trust Your Mouth
This is shadow work integration. If you are new to shadow work or have participated in my Inner Voice series, in this workshop we will learn to trust our mouths to say what we want to say when we want to say it and how we want to say it, getting over the fear to speak, and speaking from our hearts which are always speaking to us.

Workshop 1: Stability, Grounding and Sounding
This is for those of you who want to dive deeper into this work of the unconscious. Here I will intuitively guide you through an event that triggered you, to find the belief, story and legitimate unmet need underneath. We will un- blend the narrative, go on a journey through time, learn to turn towards our discomfort and meet ourselves with grace.
When we hold space for ourselves with curiosity and compassion we become the container of our experience, and can tend to it like an attentive wise loving kind adult would to a hurt child and guide it to safety. This work has changed my life in such profound ways, given me tools to self regulate, and self- inquire without getting lost in mental swirling or overwhelm. It's deeply empowering and enlivening.
In reparenting yourself, you find your personal power, freedom, autonomy, sovereignty and authentic leadership.

Sessions are held over zoom and are 1- 2 hours. Integrity is important to me and as a highly sensitive and empathetic person with a rich intuitive ability, I have found that the screen really helps me to fully invest my presence and energy with you, in a way where I can energetically hold more balance, stability and open my intuition to a larger and cleaner capacity to serve you.
